Entering the house
FRONT DOOR - Normal lock/key
(Note: to re-lock, first close the door, then lift the handle UP fully, then turn key)
ONCE INSIDE
LIGHTS - If shutters are closed it may be dark inside the house so a torch would be useful
until appropriate light switches are found.
WINDOWS & SHUTTERS - Open all windows and shutters, attach clips to hold shutters open. The
lower double bedroom has an electric shutter which can be raised from inside. (With a switch) or from outside (with
a key).
HOT WATER - The hot water should be "ON" If house has not recently
been occupied proceed to laundry room (downstairs). The contact-breaker, marked with a shower
symbol (Immersion heater), may need to be switched to the "ON" position. |

CALOR GAS - This will only require turning on in winter for
central heating. The valve to turn on the gas is located behind the large immersion tank cylinder on
the wall to the far right of the laundry. (you will need to crawl under immersion heater tank to reach
it)! Red arrow in VERTICAL position indicates GAS ON. In HORIZONTAL indicates GAS OFF. (See
PHOTO). |

Leaving the House
- Switch off "Cumulus" (immersion heater) by disengaging the appropriate contact breaker.
- Turn off gas valves in laundry & below cooker hot plates/gas rings.
- Close shutters & fix in position with internal bars. Then close & lock windows.
- Lock both downstairs bedrooms & leave keys in locks.
French door locks require that the door handle is held in a fully raised position as the key is turned.
- Front gates. These should be locked only if new guests are not expected during the following 3 - 4
days.
- Wheeley bin. Please leave in position by the barbecue unless you are leavng on a Monday when it should be
positioned outside the front gates.
